We use it for the winter months, and now after 15 years of ownership, we must sell or rent it because of increased taxes. I have a disability, are there exemptions available to me based on my situation? A. There are two taxes such a home is likely to incur: Vancouver’s Empty Homes Tax and British Columbia’s Vacancy and Speculation Tax.
