Argument over Amish and being called racist may have led to

CARROLLTON An argument over being called a racist and disagreement about the Amish apparently led to a Carroll County man dousing a housemate in gasoline, and setting him on fire, according to testimony during a court hearing Tuesday.
Arlen A. Atkinson, 53, is charged with aggravated murder, aggravated arson, murder and felonious assault in the Jan. 24 death of Scot E. Hupp, 58.
Both men lived in a three-bedroom brick bungalow at Bellflower and Lilly roads NW in Brown Township. The fire occurred about 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 23.
Rick Stauffer, a Carroll  County sheriff's deputy and investigator assigned to the Carroll County Prosecutor's Office, testified at Tuesday's hearing before Carroll County Municipal Court Judge Gary L. Willen.
