ASI: Parliamentary Committee urges strengthening Archaeologi

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism, and Culture has submitted a report on the functioning of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), emphasizing the need for improved documentation of the nation's cultural heritage. While ASI is mandated to create a database of heritage sites and antiques, the report notes that only 16.8 lakh out of an estimated 58 lakh antiques have been documented.
