Astronomers find a "cataclysmic" pair of stars with the shor

Astronomers have discovered a stellar binary with what appears to be an extremely short orbit of 51 minutes. The system seems to be a “cataclysmic variable,” in which a star like our sun tightly orbits a white dwarf.
