Austin-Travis County residents who are eligible to receive a coronavirus vaccination this week could have a better chance of booking a first dose appointment through local vaccine providers after Texas received its largest shipment of doses to date. The Texas Department of State Health Services by Monday released a list of every authorized Austin-Travis County vaccine provider who will receive some of the 1.5 million doses given to the state this week, for a total of about 46,540 first doses coming to Travis County. Gov. Greg Abbott last week announced that starting Monday, Texas would be receiving the 1.5 million doses of coronavirus vaccine from the federal government.
