9 The PGA Tour heads back to Texas for the AT&T Byron Nelson this week. The tournament will be played at TPC Craig Ranch, 25 miles north of Dallas. TPC Craig Ranch hosted the 2008 and 2012 Korn Ferry Tour Championship while playing as a 7,300-yard par-71. The course has been stretched out a to play as a traditional par-72 with four reachable par 5s. Some players in the field with a little bit of course knowledge, including James Hahn, who finished runner-up at the KFT Championship in 2012. With so few players having course knowledge, I will concentrate on players who are gaining strokes on approach and who are birdie makers on par-5s and when they hit the green in regulation. The greens should be a mystery to most in the field, and they are on the large side for the PGA Tour as they average more than 6,700 square feet. Besides the reachable par-5s, TPC Craig Ranch also has two short par-4s, with the 14th possibly being drivable as it only measures 330 yards. The winning score should be north of 20 under, but you never know how the wind will affect the scoring. It looks like it should be calm until Sunday, when storms are expected to make the conditions more difficult.
