Caithness members of Highland Council have allocated more than £4700 to local groups.
Ward discretionary approvals in February by Thurso and Northwest Caithness councillors included £1500 for Thurso Community Café towards the purchase of a coffee machine and cooker.
They also agreed to give £1428.99 to Thurso Community Development Trust to help with Covid-19 community support.
The councillors for both local wards – Thurso and Northwest Caithness, and Wick and East Caithness – approved £1440 for Budding Engineers, a community interest company that supports primary and secondary pupils, and £400 for the Caithness Klics young carers project.
