Caithness councillors agree to give £4700 to local groups

Caithness members of Highland Council have allocated more than £4700 to local groups.
Ward discretionary approvals in February by Thurso and Northwest Caithness councillors included £1500 for Thurso Community Café towards the purchase of a coffee machine and cooker.
They also agreed to give £1428.99 to Thurso Community Development Trust to help with Covid-19 community support.
The councillors for both local wards – Thurso and Northwest Caithness, and Wick and East Caithness – approved £1440 for Budding Engineers, a community interest company that supports primary and secondary pupils, and £400 for the Caithness Klics young carers project. ....

A local decommissioning business has donated a range of computer equipment to help youngsters in Caithness with their digital learning.
GD Energy Services Ltd, based at Naver Business Centre in Thurso, handed over seven new Lenovo Chromebooks, worth more than £2000, to Budding Engineers – a community interest company (CIC) that supports primary and secondary pupils with concepts such as 3D design and Computer-Aided Design. ....
