Claire D. Cronin, the No. 2 Democrat in the Massachusetts House, is being vetted by Biden administration officials as they weigh a pick for the new US ambassador to Ireland, two people with knowledge of the process told the Globe.
Cronin, the House’s majority leader and a state representative from Easton, was a leading surrogate and a fund-raising bundler for President Biden’s presidential bid in Massachusetts, and she appeared on national television during last summer’s Democratic National Convention, when she cast the state’s official nominating votes for him.
