Colorado-based Tri-State plans to boost renewables, close coal plants

Colorado-based Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association is proposing an energy plan that will close two coal power plants and significantly boost the amount of renewable energy sources on its system. The wholesale power supplier expects that 70% of power for its member rural electric associations will come from renewable energy sources by 2030.
