Column: Defending the NH constitution- A different view Portsmouth Herald In an opinion piece that appeared in the Seacoast papers on January 15, my colleague Rep. Debra Altschiller argued that the actions of six state representatives were somehow outside of their rights under the New Hampshire (NH) Constitution. This had to do with their signing a document, termination of office and termination of the “state”, that they submitted to the N.H. Secretary of State (SOS). On the merits, this document was of no consequence and wholly ignored by those responsible for the workings of our N.H. government. The document was submitted by a group of, what I will define as liberty-minded House members, who believed they had the right under the N.H. Constitution to be heard.
