Columnist made false statements, minimized Capitol attack The Monroe News I would like to comment on the article by Charles Milliken on the Wednesday, June 2nd Opinion Page. He seems to think that anybody to the left of former Senator Joseph McCarthy is a socialist, Marxist or liberal communist. If you don’t worship at the altar of former President Donald Trump, you hate America, capitalism, religion and family values. As a conservative, I would like to say that this diatribe against anyone who believes differently than he is disturbing. Defending the insurrectionists who attacked the Capitol police and the Capitol Building itself is unpatriotic and insulting (opinion). Trump brought together bigoted and violent people from all over the nation from hate groups like the Nazi Party, the Ku Klux Klan, the Proud Boys and, let’s not forget the Michigan Militia, who were responsible for the Oklahoma City bombing of April 19, 1995 (fact).
