SAN MARCOS — The Palomar Community College District Governing Board officially hired their new president and superintendent Tuesday by approving a three-year contract with Star Rivera-Lacey. The board had announced plans to hire Rivera-Lacey on June 23. She is scheduled to begin her new job July 26. Her contract runs through June 30, 2024, with an annual base salary of $257,000. An Oceanside native and Fallbrook resident, Rivera-Lacey previously had been the assistant superintendent/vice president of student services at Palomar College and most recently served as vice president of student services at the San Diego College of Continuing Education, the noncredit division of the San Diego Community College District.
