The National Weather Service said windy weather and the potential for critical fire weather conditions are forecast in areas of Santa Barbara County. A Red Flag Warning was issued for the majority of Santa Barbara County, including the county’s Central Coast, Santa Ynez Valley, mountain areas and Los Padres National Forest due to “strong and locally damaging northeast to east winds and moderately low relative humidity,” the NWS said. The warning will be in effect 10 p.m. Monday through 10 a.m. Wednesday. The red flag warning is an upgrade from an earlier fire weather watch. The NWS said winds are expected to strengthen and become widespread across Santa Barbara County on Tuesday through Tuesday night, with the strongest gusts in the foothills and mountains.
