COVID cases continue to rise in Lake, Sumter
More than 300 new confirmed cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus were reported in Lake and Sumter counties, according to Wednesday’s update from the Florida Department of Health.
LEESBURG — More than 300 new confirmed cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus were reported in Lake and Sumter counties, according to Wednesday’s update from the Florida Department of Health. 
Lake County added 200 new confirmed cases of the potentially deadly coronavirus, while Sumter gained 126. Since March, when the DOH began issuing daily updates on the spread and impact of COVID-19, Lake has reported 16,897 cases and officials in Sumter County have confirmed 5,634 cases.
