Deming High School SkillsUSA Chapter earns elite national re

DEMING – Wildcat Pride is shining on the Deming High School SkillsUSA Chapter. The chapter was recently recognized nationally as the recipient of the "Models of Excellence" Award. Only 24 chapters nationwide were recognized for the award as an "Outstanding Chapter" by the national SkillsUSA organization in Leesburg, VA. DHS SkillsUSA is the lone New Mexico chapter among the 24 selected. 
The annual program recognizes the exceptional integration of personal, workplace and technical skills into SkillsUSA chapter activities. This is the highest honor bestowed on chapters by SkillsUSA, which is among the largest student organizations for career and technical education.
SkillsUSA is a nonprofit partnership of education and industry founded in 1965 to strengthen our nation’s skilled workforce. SkillsUSA has more than 372,000 annual members nationwide in high schools, middle schools and colleges, covering 130 trade, technical and skilled service occupations. The U.S. Departments of Labor and Education recognizes the organization as integral to career and technical education. Driven by employer demand, SkillsUSA helps students develop necessary personal and workplace skills along with technical skills grounded in academics.
