Demolition began this week on the old Julian's Dining Room & Lounge building on A1A in Ormond Beach. With its distinctive A-frame and Polynesian decor, it was a beachside landmark for nearly a half century. But after closing its doors in 2012, the boarded-up building became one of the symbols of the Daytona Beach area's beachside blight. "I miss Julian's, however, it became an eyesore in recent years," said Dwight Bailey, a real estate agent with Adams, Cameron & Co. Realtors, whose office is in the building just north of the former restaurant. "I'd see police over there all the time throwing out homeless people."
