see these beautiful animals that are soiled basically to make our lives convenient and simple. so, it is -- we all have a hand in this. i think that we all have a hand in cleaning it up. >> a lot of people working very hard. man in charge, jay holcomb, bird rescue research center director, did i get that right? >> yes, you did. >> you've been doing this 40 years. how does this spill compare to what you've seen? >> one thing different about this spill than any others is that the oil keeps pumping. therefore we can't really plan for an end to it. spills start with three pieces, beginning, the middle when everything is working, getting the cleaned up and then the end, where the last drop is cleaned. we're still kind of in the beginning. that makes it tiring and frustrating. >> we saw the process where the birds are cleaned. once they're cleaned they're brought here. can you show us? >> sure. this is one of the cages outside. these guys are in the rehabilitation stage. can you see them?
