intelligence committee is that you have to speak truth to power. this is the classic job number one of a director of national intelligence to say it's your prerogative to decide what to do once you get a set of facts, but it is my obligation to tell you what they are. and this isn't a close call, by the way. often times intelligence agencies have different views on hard questions, think north korea and their plutonium program. everyone agrees on it so not just saying it to the president but to the world. here is what the united states thinks. >> this is one of the reasons why i think we have seen some republican officials who are upset with president trump saying they don't want director of national intelligence coates to resign in protest. they need him there and trust him. >> i think this is an interesting situation that we find ourselves in.
