been losing steadily for the last 12 days. they have a stronghold in the city of benghazi. they are hoping for massive assistance and to be rearmed. they were at one point in the thousands and by the end of the fight only in the hundreds. really their stronghold is taking a pounding right now from qadaffi forces being shelled with artillery and with tanks and it was really the first shots that were fired around that stronghold by french war planes which could be the start of a different turn to this battle. >> judge jeanine: and how about qadaffi's sons. they seem to be up front with the western press. have we heard anything from them? >> reporter: one of the major spokesman has been one of his sons who is often seen as perhaps a more democratic face of the regime. he has been aggressive in his condemnation warning the rebels that they would be searched out and crushed. on the whole, the qadaffi regime has taken a very aggressive line, not at all
