i think he has got to do something different. that's been his message. >> and the second message will be because i think it will be effective against gingrich. second message should be i can win. the very factors that make him a hard sell in the primary, romney care being pro-choice and before -- that kind of stuff, gay civil unions. those all make him much more acceptable in a general election. >> bill: that's a slap at gingrich if he says i can win and he can't win. that's what's going to have to be. >> i don't think he can make the case that newt can't win. i think he can make the case that he has a better chance of winning than gingrich does. i think a lot of republicans could care less who gets the nomination. they just want someone to beat obama. >> what would you tell gingrich to keep his lead? what should he do? >> everybody agrees is he more conservative than romney. everybody agrees that he sticks to his positions more than mitt does. those are the two things he needs to stress.
