227,000 jobs created last month, but unemployment stayed at 8.3% because almost half a million people joined the work force. 1.2 million jobs created in the past six months, but there are still 5.2 million fewer jobs than four years ago. dana, what does all of that mean for the economy? what does it mean for president obama's reelection chances? >> i think good news is good news. it should be called that. i remember in the bush administration years you'd get 150,000 jobs one month and on the hill democrats would say this is absolutely horrible, not good enough. 227,000 jobs, though, is a positive trend, and should that continue and we see a drop in the unemployment rate, one, good for americans, but two, i think that you'll see the central focus of the campaign will still be the economy. it will just shift a little bit to the debt, the deficit, obama care still is going to play a really big role, so the economy still for the administration plays the most important role going forward.
