this despite major opposition. last year the bill was challenged in cranston in that school district after one parent complained that such a dance, father/daughter dances were discriminatory. sean gately is a parent from the school district who helped make this bill a law. good morning, sean, thanks for being with us. this mom complained. she says suspects discrimination by title 9 law. aclu gets involved. what do you do to will that the aclu? >> well, well, to be honest with you as being a parent in my city it was a matter of bringing it to the public's attention and the general outrage as a result of it across this country and quite frankly across the globe. it was a matter of bringing it to the general assembly's attention, working with some attorneys that i know to write the language and then fortunately our senators here in cranston followed through and passed a law it was a great day in rhode island. >> can i say from
