most of the tornado zone, an april snowstorm is hitting the northern great plains. two days away from may a winter storm hit the northern black hills of south dakota. some areas got up to ten inches. the latest accumulation melted pretty quickly. >> it's part of the giant storm system bringing winter-like weather to the north and tornados to the south. >> accu-weather has been tracking all of it. meteorologist jim dickey has the latest. good morning, jim. >> reporter: good morning, john and diana. a massive area of low pressure continues to dominate the weather across much of the country here. bringing rainfall, snow across the northern plains soaking rain to the northeast and more in the way of severe thunderstorms across the southeast. another round much tornadoes expected here today. the conditions stay ripe for dangerous, long track tornadoes. the threat shifts eastward. eastern louisiana across eastern mississippi, central alabama to northwestern georgia along with widespread damaging winds and large hail and the storms as far north at southern ohio. in to our wednesday, threat further eastward, not nearly the tornado threat but gusty.
