press conference with the president because there are two clashing news stories coming at the same direction, from the -- different directions actually. it looks like the president's going to hold a press conference on the budget. my sense is given the direction of the front pages of the newspapers these days he's going to have to deal with a lot of questions about his relationship with the secretary of state, the possible kurfuffle as to what our policy was toward the emerging revolution in egypt, and what are we going to do about israel and countries of the middle east who feel under threat. i can not believe that that's not going to be some of the sharpest questioning of this morning. however, the question officially today is what does the public think of -- and the press think of this -- what they think of the budget proposal. let's go to richard wolfe at the white house. do you think the president's going to be able to keep this on the budget? >> reporter: they're going to try. but officials expect there will be questions about the middle east but obviously what we've seen across the arab world in
