C.D. Davidsmeyer, a Republican state representative and assistant Republican leader in the House, has been presented the Outstanding Eagle Scout Award. It is given to Eagle Scouts who have distinguished themselves through public service. Eagle Scout is the highest rank in Scouting. About 4% of all Scouts attain the designation, including such notable figures as astronaut Neil Armstrong, Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer and former FBI Director Louis Freeh.
