By Meteorologist Tyler Southard Visible satellite view as Elsa tracks off the coast of Maine. The drought conditions that have been intensifying through the spring and summer will be halted across parts of the region as the remnants of Tropical Storm Elsa delivers multiple inches of rainfall to parts of New England Friday. Elsa took shape in the Caribbean last week before making landfall in Cuba and then again in Florida through the weekend and into the early week. The storm then tracked up the east coast eventually arriving off the coast of New England as it transitioned from a Tropical Storm to a Post Tropical Storm over colder waters. This has brought along rich tropical moisture that will result in multiple inches of rain across southern Maine before the storm clears east heading into the weekend.
