Canadian energy infrastructure company Enbridge said May 20 it had commissioned the 2.5 MW Heidlersburg solar project in Pennsylvania to help power its Texas Eastern Transmission (TETCO) natural gas pipeline.
The 8,190-panel array is the third Enbridge has brought into service as part of its solar self-power programme, a key component of its ambition to reach net-zero by 2050.
“The Heidlersburg solar project is just the second of its kind in the US and tangibly demonstrates the complementary nature of natural gas and renewables,” said Caitlin Tessin, Enbridge’s director of market information.
