Former state Assemblyman Terry Goggin was sentenced to a year in prison Wednesday for his role in a money laundering scheme to deceive investors in a chain of coffee shops at BART stations.
Former state Assemblyman Terry Goggin was sentenced to a year in prison Wednesday for his role in a money laundering scheme to deceive investors in a chain of coffee shops at BART stations.
Goggin, a Democrat who represented San Bernardino from 1974 until 1984, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of money laundering in December 2019. As part of the plea agreement, he admitted to defrauding investors in a company he founded, Metropolitan Coffee & Concessions, which owned four Peet’s Coffee & Tea shops in BART stations.
