PETALING JAYA: After nearly a month, work to dismantle a crane gantry and concrete beams at the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) that fell and killed several individuals has finally been completed. According to SUKE, work to dismantle and remove the gantry and beams that collapsed in the March 22 incident in Alam Damai was completed on Sunday (April 18). It also said the dismantling and removal works were carried out by Projek Lintasan Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Sdn Bhd via its contractor, Syarikat Muhibbah Perniagaan dan Pembinaan Sdn Bhd. The work was also monitored by the Malaysian Highway Authority, the Occupational Safety and Health Department, and the Construction Industry Development Board in order to ensure that everything was done in adherence to standard operating procedure, SUKE said in a statement on Monday (April 19).
