As the pandemic rages on, Fitzpatrick and other members of that Problem Servers Caucus have introduced a $908 billion COVID emergency relief package that provides money for local and state governments, schools, small businesses, transportation, hospitals, vaccine makers, and the unemployed. The package also includes relief for childcare, housing assistance and student loan debt. On Friday, members of Congress were still negotiating a similar relief package estimated at $900 billion. Lawmakers have said the package could include $300 billion in aid for businesses, a direct payment of $600 to taxpayers, and $300 week in supplemental unemployment benefits. “The Problem Solvers Caucus has consistently and successfully worked to increase bipartisanship and unity in Congress," Fitzpatrick said. "I look forward to continuing to work with my bipartisan colleagues to break the gridlock, forge consensus on critical issues, and bring an end to the era of hyper-partisanship in Washington.”
