FMPD: Officer will return to duty full-time with conclusion of federal investigation Published: April 6, 2021 4:18 PM EDT Updated: April 6, 2021 4:22 PM EDT Recommended An officer who has waited four years to get back on the force is seeing that hope come to fruition. Fort Myers Police Department confirmed Tuesday Officer Jason Jackson will return to duty full-time, following the conclusion of an investigation by The U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Middle District of Florida. There were no charges brought against Jackson or the three other officers who were investigated. According to an FMPD press release, the police department officially confirmed Officer Jackson is no longer under criminal investigation by the federal government.
