FOXNEWS The Big Weekend Show September 15, 2024

Hello, i am allysia acuna along with shanda, nicole saphier and tom shillue. Welcome to the big weekend show. The big story tonight kamala harris system for her first interview since her debate with donald trump and she avoids specifics. What are specific things you have in mind for that? i'll start with this i grew up in middleclass kid in the neighborhood of folks proud of their long. If there's one thing you wish americans knew about who kamala harris that you don't think they know yet, what would that be? i love my family. She was asked just five questions and the 11 minute interview. Lucas tomlinson live from the white house tonight. Good evening. Vice president kamala harris first solo interview since becoming the democratic nominee and just like the debate, the harris team turned to abc this time from a local affiliate from the little you. My mother raised my easter and me, she worked very hard. She was able to save up enough money to buy our first house when i was a teenager. I grew up in a community of hardworking people, construction workers and nurses and teachers. I tried to explain to some who may not have the same expe experience, a lot of people will relate to this. Critics say the vice president gave long answers without mentioning. . . There is some more from the interview. We have aspirations and dreams but not everyone necessarily has access to the resources that can help them feel those dreams and ambitions. When i talk about building an opportunity economy, it is very much with the mind of investing in the visions and aspirations an incredible work ethic of the american people and creating opportunity for people so giving firsttime homebuyers $25000 down payment assistance to be able to get in the door and they will do the work they need to do to dave and pay the mortgage and build wealth for themselves and their families. The vice president was asked what specifically she would do to fix the economy. Vice president harris will join biden added dinner by the congressional black caucus foundation later tonight here in the nation's capital. Live at the white house, thanks, lucas. We listened to the news anchor asked for specifics and he did it multiple times and i do know parameters are given when you get these interviews is only so much time and he asked her, can i ask you a couple more questions? they were obviously limits but he still didn't get the answers, any real answers. Kamala nothing but also said so much. Not saying anything it shows the economy are the number one issues in every single pole in the selection and the fact that you go to an interview and have nothing to offer on how you will fix the economy, make some stuff up. You think of the last debate, a lot of commentators saying donald trump was needed by kamala harris, he took debate, the size of his rally crowds, trump spencer 40 plus. He debated her into having the confidence to do interviews like this and expose herself to the american people. Donald trump's four steps of kamala and the rest of the country. This interview is only done a couple of days after the debate and was remarkable how the answers were so similar and i want folks to listen. I grew up in middleclass kid. I was raised as a middleclass kid. Focusing on aspirations and dreams i believe in the ambition, aspirations and dreams of the american people. I was a career prosecutor most of my career. I started as a prosecutor. An opportunity economy where it's about investing in areas that need a lot of work. I intend to create an opportunity economy. Clearly i am not joe biden. The vast majority of us have so much more in common than what separates us. We have so much more in common than what separates us. I will say this we hear candidates say the same thing on the campaign trail over and over but this is different. We all have talking points, we are used to that but we lo love people love trump because his conversationalist whether he's at a rally talking to reporters, two people are in the conversation. When it comes to kamala harris, she's giving a monologue even though she's talking about the same thing regurgitated over and over in the reason she can't get into specifics when she specifically asked to give specifics and details is because i don't believe they exist and he goes back to her 2019 campaign, she couldn't get into the weeds of things because she doesn't have pacific policy and we still don't know what she stands for but the last three and a half years she's writing on the tail of joe biden and has not evolved. All she says is is a new generation. She's just younger, it's an extension of the last three and a half years. They walked for her three and a half years ago and anybody believes there's going to be change is of will. She may have policies and she doesn't want to share them because she knows we won't like them. Someone like barack obama, he's far left and he ran and try to convince americans he wasn't very far left, he convinced americans because he has math skills. She doesn't have skills. She was nervous at the debate and at this interview you could see it. She's trying to stay on message because she has coders saying you cannot reveal your true self and i think that debate you could see it, she stunk it up at the debate is about the people have to have this narrative, she came out and did this, she was lousy at the debate just like she was lousy at the interview because she thinks she can ride it out and do this platitude and talk about i grew up middleclass and we had long. It's not going to work, she will run out of steam. No one is pushing back. At the debate they didn't push back and the abc affiliate they didn't push back. Another one, local news anchor asked her to get specific again and again she wouldn't. Given your current role as vice president of the united states, how different you are from joe biden so i wonder if there are one or two spots, policy areas or approaches where you would say i'm a different person. I'm obviously not joe biden and i offer a new generation of leadership so for example, thinking about developing and creating an opportunity economy where it's about investing in areas that need a lot of work and focusing on the aspirations and dreams but recognizing at this time some stuff we can take for granted years ago we can't take for granted anymore. For example another plan i have that is a new approach is extend the child tax credit to $6000 for young families for the first year of their child's life. My focus is and what we need to do the next ten or 20 years to catch up to the 21st century. There? author calling that a fili filibuster. She's talking about a new generation, it means nothing. She's going to work on opportunity economy, she said three and a half years to work on opportunity economy and crushing his american economy so we know nothing more now than we did before the interview or the debate which is why she would have done well in the debate but her poll numbers are going up. We know from polling there are a lot of voters who say they still feel like they know her and her allies say she keeps going into this back story over and over. She's trying to appeal to a lot of voters saying this is where i grew up and she's wanting to get personal but the reality is you can see how force that is, stage. I cannot say with confidence i felt donald trump had a strong debate that night, i wished he had more responses especially when it came to healthcare and even the abortion topic but at the end of the day she may have remained poised and stock answers but they still stand for nothing and i do believe life was better under trump presidency in the last three and a half years. I cannot imagine extending the current administration, it will continue to hurt us. That was a challenge to get to know her and what she can do for them on people already know what former president trump has done for them. He was the same and that debate the other day, the same as he was in the debate against joe biden and everybody said he won handsdown. Look at the sidebyside, he is exactly the same. He never changes that will in fact that she was doing canned responses, it impresses people in the media because we know how you can craft an answer. Employers and prosecutors love that, she pivoted away from the answer. People who commit away from answers the american people h hate. This is a jampacked hour of the big weekend show coming up including this bizarre answer. If there's one thing you wish americans knew about who kamala harris is that they don't know yet, what would it be? i love mike family. Kamala harris should only take plaintiff questions from the press? nobody can believe how bad they been at the border running our country, the economy, inflation, afghanistan everything. One of my favorite things lately i've not been able to do, sunday family dinner, i love to cook. Looking forward to cooking sunday dinner again like i am. I'm looking forward to cooking with the whole family involved. Welcome back to the big weekend show. Of all the things kamala harris wants to know about her, she loves her family and loves cooking. Me, too. Democratic strategists now say the next time she takes questions from the media, her team should clamp the questions? she could actually take five or six questions of which you could plan to. [laughter] you can't plant all the questions because there would be evidence they were planted but you could ask that question. They thought about that right now. [laughter] pretty good on her feet. Earlier this summer he came out, he's been advocating. Mark biased coverage, anything he says so trump doesn't get elected, he said i don't have anything against him as long as he doesn't get elected. Without the unrest after the election cycle when you have high levels democratic strategists and advisors coming out saying things are working, let's not play questions because it's the only way kamala will look good speaking live, what does that show you? it's no wonder people don't know what or who to believe when you have a strategists coming out saying it's plant the questions, it will make everything easier for everybody, it hurts the american people in the average voter. That hurts democrats and hurts republicans. It's not good for anyone. People are talking about this debate, she did better than former president trump a lot of people are saying but people believe she was given the questions ahead of time. There's no proof that happened. Then you hear this and it makes people go maybe because why would we doubt it? they are saying it out loud and she asked answers with reporters questions, she did one local interview since the debate, she's not been interviewed, she's not been answering reporters questions. It's a limited scope in which she's decided to participate. Podcast where he was essentially saying she needs to go out and give speeches about her policy, not necessarily have conversations because we don't want her to do that. If we have conversation, it has to have plaintiff questions but even after the debate when you thought maybe you would get more of an idea of her policies even in the cnn host is saying we don't know what harris policies are. Does she, kamala harris need to do more to explain to the public what her policies are? that's what keeps coming up and pulling, people don't know what her policies are about. That's one of the big questions, what are her pol policies? is the only way to understand is plant these questions? i think james is spot on. If he's an operative, he wears a blue jersey, if she can't answers questions, you want to plan questions but if you're in bc and news outlet, that's different. Fact checking donald trump and not kamala harris but it's interesting because americans need policy to vote for you, we are not at a golden age for this world peace and a roaring economy and low inflation and no crime in the country. It is the opposite. These are my ideas. Not popping and spiking the goals. That was one of the criticisms of the debate, there wasn't pushback but there was for donald trump and a recent article out of los angeles ti times, the title being held trumps feet to the fire, she became abc news rising star and she said people were concerned that humans were allowed to just hang and not be disputed by can the biden at the time or the moderators so they said in their prep for this debate went through hours and hours of coverage of speaking. They only had hours and hours of speaking from president trump because he was the only one at the time who went and spoke about policies and kamala harris didn't have policies on her website so what does it say when you only have been pushing back against president trump and nothing to say even with untruths kamala harris had? we could see, everybody saw the same debate and that's why kamala harris didn't win the debate because everybody knew it was three on one and trump came out a day or two later saying it was three on one, trump complaining about referees. We also do and do what was going on and when people saw it, people in the media said she's not answering questions. Both moderators, she's just admitted she went in and watched the cnn debate with biden and she didn't like the way moderators let trump get away with his answers so they took his answers and whenever he had an answer like that, they came in with their followup perfect check but we know what it is they are both democrats. Everyone knows these people, everyone at the agency, they are all costs, everyone can see that, even the democrats know it. They will hold their feet to the fire even more, leftist voters and democrats were so mad at cnn for not having their foot on the gas pedal more so she wanted to get on the good side of these people mad about the last debate so they went all in. I think it will backfire, the american people know what's going on. There smarter than they give us credit for. Coming up next, donald trump surprises and thanks law enforcement. Nobody can believe how bad they did at the border running our country, the economy, inflation, afghanistan, everything. 's running mate j. D. Vance hits the college football tailgate.
