Fun with Dr. Seuss at Cambridge Intermediate School The Daily Jeffersonian Tuesday was a day of celebrating the birthday of the late Theodor Seuss Geisel, more commonly known as Dr. Seuss, for third-grade students at Cambridge Intermediate School. Students and teachers dressed up in outfits resembling some of Dr. Seuss's most famous characters such as the Lorax and the Cat in the Hat. The hallway was decorated as well, with a poster wishing Dr. Seuss a happy birthday surrounded by some of his children's books. Hot air balloons with books hung from the ceiling. The students participated in activities centered around Dr. Seuss books such as making Cat in the Hat fruit kabobs from bananas and strawberries, making slime to represent the Oobleck from the book "Bartholomew and the Oobleck." Another class used shaving cream to make puff paint to represent the Oobleck. Students in yet another class made little wockets, based off the book "There's a Wocket in Pocket" and others used oil pastels for an activity for "The Lorax" book. One class even focused on STEM actives based off the books.
