(Photo credit: Paul Marotta/Getty Images) The environmental movement and its allies in the corporate media enjoy labeling their opponents as “science deniers” to prevent their radical agenda from being subject to debate. Ironically, however, these same groups readily ignore a world of factual data that calls their mission and motivations into question. One such “inconvenient truth” for environmentalists is that the past four years of historic levels of energy deregulation in the United States have been accompanied by record declines in greenhouse gas emissions. According to EPA data, greenhouse gas emissions from large facilities decreased by more than 14 percent from 2011 to 2019, during a period when EPA began tracking more sources. Over the same period, power plant emissions alone decreased by 25 percent.
