Newport Daily News MIDDLETOWN — Gov. Dan McKee was brimming with optimism Saturday afternoon as he toured the state-run vaccination clinic at the former Benny’s store on West Main Road. “We’ve built out our vaccination capacity to handle future supplies,” he said. “We now have the capacity to deliver 160,000 doses per week — we just need the supplies. I think we can raise that capacity through our partnerships with the pharmacies another 40,000 or so. We will soon have the capacity to deliver 200,000 shots per week. I’m not sure any other state has the capacity to vaccinate 20% of its population the way Rhode Island can.”
