Gov. DeSantis just made it harder for me - a veteran - to vote | Letters Hereâs what readers are saying in Fridayâs letters to the editor. Â Â Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis leaves a West Palm Beach rally where he appeared live on "Fox & Friends" to sign a voting reform law. Hundreds of DeSantis supporters attended the signing that was broadcast live on the Fox News morning show while numerous Florida news reporters and photographers were barred from entering. [ JOE CAVARETTA | South Florida ] Published Earlier today | May 6 I am an American veteran, born and raised right here in Florida. Since then, Iâve deployed six times to Iraq and Afghanistan, earning two Bronze Stars throughout 18 years of service. Veterans like me across this nation have fought to protect and defend the American ideals we hold dear â like the right to vote, and a free and fair election. To thank us for our service, Gov. Ron DeSantis just made it harder for more than 100,000 Florida service members to vote. While I was overseas, and while Iâve continued my service at various bases across the country, I have voted by mail every single time.
