Schaben/Los Angeles Times via Getty Imag A survey of 1,000 registered voters across the Bay Area has revealed significant cultural and geographical differences in coronavirus vaccine opposition. According to the poll, conducted by the Bay Area Council, a public-policy advocacy organization, of the 57% who said they haven’t yet been vaccinated, 21% said they definitely or probably won’t get vaccinated. This is likely to pose a challenge for public health officials working to end the pandemic by achieving herd immunity, though according the the World Health Organization it is not yet known what percentage of the population needs to be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19.
