Grace Lyo is an assistant dean and director helping the top MBA program adjust to virtual learning. She said many of the innovations faculty came up with may be worth keeping post-pandemic. Flipping the class structure, using breakout rooms, and hosting virtual speakers will continue. Grace Lyo's role as assistant dean and director of teaching and learning at Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) was created two years ago, just in time to establish her team before COVID-19 came around. She's since been heavily involved in helping the MBA program not just transition to virtual learning — a difficult ask for a school known for its hands-on experiential classes like "Interpersonal Dynamics," otherwise known as "Touchy Feely" — but rethink its entire curricula and teaching methods during the pandemic.
