Irwin Wong Satoshi Sugie is a former product designer for Nissan who decided to reshape the personal mobility arena after learning about people's frustrations with wheelchairs. In 2012, he cofounded WHILL, which produces electric mobility products that are powerful, compact, and easy to dismantle. The product aims to help users overcome not only the physical, but the psychological, barriers that a disability can impose.
