Even though temperatures are expected to warm in the coming days, there are still hundreds of thousands of people in the Houston area who are without power and clean, potable water. Others have been displaced from their homes after frozen pipes caused water damage, and the city’s unhoused population remains especially vulnerable to the cold. To be sure, there is a great deal of need for hot, nutritious meals in Houston right now. Fortunately, a number of mutual aid collectives, community fridges, and hunger relief organizations are working around the clock to ensure that people get enough to eat — and they could use some financial support.
