A note of caution by the director of a leading IIT woke up Government of India on deep inroads that Chinese company Huawei had already made into Indias leading institutes including IITs. Indias gear shift on Huawei was cautious, quiet and a tad late, unlike in other parts of the world where the company's alleged role as an instrument of the Chinese state had openly come into question.
