the national party as they try to hold on to the seats where they have a better chance of winning. it's triage. it's political triage. >> just a matter of putting money where they think it's going to count the most. what about given all of the doom and gloom of the democrats losing control of the house, is it possible the republicans may overplay their hand and surprise have the democrats winning on election day? >> yeah, it's possible. and it's only possible because, you know, though the democrats are in deep, deep trouble, the american people are very angry with the democrats primarily because they're the party in power. they're the ones who now have responsibility for governing. but the one thing that is the silver lining, i think, for democrats and why republicans might overplay their hand, it's that when the american -- when people are polled and asked, you know, their approval rating of republicans in congress, very, very low. the last nbc/"wall street journal" poll i could find had it at 33%.
