After the West Coast experienced a rare hurricane last year, followed by a string of heavy rains this winter, Death Valley National Park feels more like a day at the beach as kayakers, swimmers, paddle boarders and gawkers drive into the area to experience an unusual phenomenon — a massive lake, where sundried salt flats were only recently the main attraction.
