U.S. donates medical equipment to the Maldives to combat Covid-19 Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maldives has received a consignment of medical equipment donated by the government of the United States of America. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that the donated medical equipment is worth USD 124,671 and comes in a bid to assist the Maldives in battling the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The medical equipment was handed over by the Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy Martin Kelly during a virtual ceremony held on Friday afternoon. Maldives Foreign Secretary, Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed received the donation. With an aim to increase Maldives capacity and enhance the health sector’s readiness to support Covid-19 response and recovery efforts, the generous donation was facilitated by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
