TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 3-ranked Florida State softball team (30-2) hits the road for their first two of five road games this week. The Noles are heading to Jacksonville, Fla. to take on both the University of North Florida and Jacksonville University on Wednesday, March 30. Both games are taking place at the Debbie & Fred Pruitt Softball Complex on the campus of Jacksonville University. The Seminoles play UNF first at 3 pm with a game against JU following that to cap off the day. Florida State is 16-1 all-time against UNF with their last meeting coming in 2019. During that game, Kathryn Sandercock pitched a complete game, while allowing no earned runs as the Seminoles run-ruled the Osprey 9-1 in five innings. Sydney Sherrill went 1-for-1 that night and scored three of FSU’s nine runs. Head coach Lonni Alameda was the head coach in all but two of the meetings between FSU and UNF. She is 14-1 against North Florida with her only loss coming in 2009. The Seminoles hold a 17-4 advantage against Jacksonville in the all-time series. The two teams have not met since 2016 when FSU won 4-0. In that game, Alameda earned her 500th career victory. Alameda is a perfect 7-0 against the Dolphins while only allowing one run in those seven meetings. FSU has outscored JU 45-1 since 2009. Neither game of the doubleheader will be streamed but links to the live stats can be found on the FSU softball schedule page. Following their trip to Jacksonville, Florida State heads up to Charlottesville, Va. for a three-game series against the University of Virginia on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
