Iconic Selena photographs have just been added to the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. Chron 3 hrs ago Katie Friel Eighteen photographs of Selena Quintanilla-Perez have been acquired by the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. The Washington, D.C.-based institution announced the news on April 16, what would have been the singer's 50th birthday. The photos, all of which were shot by San Antonio photographer Al Rendon, depict Selena is concert - including a classic shot in her trademark leather jacket - as well as headshots and candids of her interacting with fans. The images are now part the museum's Photographic History Collection, and join additional Selena photographs donated by Rendon in 2015.
