#SISustainability: Curbside composting, food scrap drop off, special waste disposal restored and expanding

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced that the city’s sustainability programs will return in full swing with expanded capabilities this fiscal year.
The Earth Day announcement from de Blasio came a year after composting and food scrap programs were put on pause due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Now, programs will be fully restored with even more accessibility than before, according to the mayor.
