A Jamaican nurse working in areas of the United States ravaged by the COVID-19 pandemic says Jamaicans are generally more compliant than Americans with protocols set out by health authorities to contain the spread of the coronavirus. Lisa Campbell-Mitchell, whose work has taken her to several hospitals and COVID-19 testing centres in Florida, Georgia and Texas, says based on her visit home last December, Jamaicans seem more likely to wear masks, social distance and sanitise their hands than Americans. “When it comes to the protocols, Jamaicans are better at it (than Americans)," said Campbell-Mitchell, who has 14 years experience as a registered nurse.
