“I’m fine with either one,” said Henry, a resident of West Palm Beach. This has been a difficult year for Guzman, an only child, and his family. Henry’s father, Nelson, passed away from a brain tumor in February. Henry credits his mother, Tania, a certified nursing assistant, for giving him strength through his father’s death and the coronavirus pandemic. “You can throw anything at her and she won’t give up. I hope I’m half as good as her one day,” said Henry, who several times has visited Cuba, the homeland of his parents. His mother’s drive is what Guzman credits with giving him the determination to become valedictorian at the 3,600-student school. Henry’s weighted GPA is 5.18.
